Whoever invented this form of flying must have been inspired by the valley of river Soča! It is almost impossible to find this many opportunities for excellent gliding on such a small territory as the slopes, mountains and excellent thermal wind conditions of the Bovec region offer. The Kanin, Planja and the Mangart mountain pass, which are all easily accessible, offer fans of paragliding excellent starting points for prolonged and extensive flights above the Julian Alps. In the company of mountain eagles, buzzards and jackdaws high above the peaks of the Julian Alps, with a view of the Adriatic in the south and the magnificent massif of the central Alps in the north. |
